April 7th, Tuesday

My Win is actually 15 today, I simply cant believe that its 15 years ago
since she arrived in Motihari, a long thin grey looking worm with skinny
fingers and toes and a propensity for howling.
My beloved son came home today, H went up to Town last night, spent the
night with Mother and brought both children home by lunch, or rather I should
say such was his intention for he and the boys missed the 11.45 and Win
had to come home alone and they followed later.

April 8th, Wednesday
Went up to a little service at the Home chapel this morning, it is a charming
and delightful little place with its lovely old Italian decoration, carving,
embroidery, furniture and pictures, a real Sanctuary, a very good organ
and everything so nicely done.

April 9th
Another quiet day. My old Gran has become very feeble of late but in actual
bodily health keeps well.

April 10th, Good Friday
In the evening we took the children down to the Lantern Service which was
taken by Mr Watson, they having returned on Wed or yesterday, he looks wonderfully
well but I am sure is not fit for work yet and seems still tired.
(Mr Watson, the Vicar, had been very ill in November – at one stage Wynne
wondered if it was typhoid. He appears to have recovered).

April 11th
The usual Church decorating for Easter, it is the one I like best and the
Church really looked very pretty with all the daffodils, jonquils and narcissi.

April 12th, Easter Sunday
Very early this morning our household started off to make their Easter Communion.
Poggy and I going to the 8.0 at the Parish Church which was Choral minus
choir boys, a very full service. Mother arrived yesterday from Town to spend
Easter with us, she is awfully bad poor dear and it is so awful to see her
suffer like this and not be able to anything, but the weather is lovely
now and so perhaps she may benefit. This day last year was the last time
my dear Gran was in Church. I am so thankful she hasn’t realized what day
it is or she would have been so distressed at not going.

April 13th, Easter Monday
My dear little Noots’ birthday, she is 10 today, it seems so odd to think
that this year she has got into 2 figures whilst Gran has 3. We had a great
hiding of presents after breakfast and then spent the morning sorting eggs
and preparing for our big Hunt this afternoon. We had about 22 children
and a lovely day, it was great fun and we all played baby games and skipped
about like 2 year olds.

April 14th
Being Easter week I thought I should have a holiday from MM but alas they
would not let me off so I had to have one today for them instead.
