This is a post card from a Prisoner of War camp – it must be one of the earliest received, and is from Wynne’s friend Philip Lyster, often mentioned in earlier days. He was a Captain in the Royal Field Artillery. But as you can see if you scroll down, he was the lucky one…

“Kriegsgefangenensendung. Bruckenkopf, Torgau a Elbe, Germany. Dated 13.9.14. So glad to get your letter this morning. am quite all right again and longing to be back with the Battery. Write to me now and then as letters are much appreciated – not more than one piece of paper as before. Hope the General is well – is he still at C? “
