The Diary in December

Christmas - a month of shopping and preparation

December 1st – 8th

A dark and cold month, but Wynne has enjoyed her year at Upper
Hale, Farnham

December 9th – 17th

A lament on modern dancing styles, a rush to do the Christmas
shopping, (with the occasional theatre!), and the continued work
of committees.

December 18th – 24th

Preparations for Christmas continue at a
frantic pace – shopping, parcels to post, and lots of children’s
parties to attend. Wynne’s two daughters are joined by her son and
her niece, back from school.

December 25th – 31st

Christmas…stockings,
presents and the Tree…

and the end of 1912 celebrated with a String
Hunt and a game of “Giggipeg”.
