The Diary in April

Easter egg hunts and news of the suffragettes.  They marvel at an aeroplane.

April 1st – 7th

Home pleasures, April Fool jokes and some
thoughts about Mrs Pankhurst and the suffragettes when her sentence
is announced.

April 8th – 14th

To Malvern to collect her son from school
and to attend the prize giving…

Everyone converges on Upton Lodge for the
holidays, and Ysobel has her 9th birthday.

April 15th – 22nd

Egg hunts in the garden for Easter, chores
in the district…and poems and primroses in the post for Wynne.

Her husband goes off to Army Camp.

April 23rd – 30th

Down to the old family home, to get it ready
for tenants. Then home for visits to the Review of Guards in London
and to see the newfangled aeroplanes at Farnborough.
