The Diary in June

Making full use of their time in London, they go to everything they can: Trooping the Colour, theatres, Garden parties, and plenty of sightseeing.  They even manage a Rodeo.

June 1st – 7th

Sunday services, the Military Tournament at Olympia, and Trooping the Colour are added to social events and good work

June 8th – 16th

Visits to the theatre: The Way of the World, St Joan and The Great Adventure. Also to Wembley to see Tex Austin’s Rodeo Show.

June 17th – 23rd

Advertising, visits to Hurlingham and to the City to see Soane’s house and the Old Curiosity Shop. St Martin’s is so full they could not find a seat for Sunday worship.

June 24th – 30th

The Actors’ Garden Party at Chelsea, and St Catherine’s Nuns’ garden party. To the theatre and the opera, and a first visit to hear a debate in the Houses of Parliament.
