The Diary in November
The family leave England, and sail to East Africa on the SS Norman.
November 2nd – 14th
Farewells, a last few theatre visits, and then the family board the “Norman” for Africa. The “Great Adventure” has begun.
November 16th – 26th
At Sea. Sea sickness and an unseasonably cold Port Said starts their journey, but the weather improves as they sail south.
November 27th – 30th
They reach Port Sudan, where they experience the aftermath of the assassination of the Governor General.
