April 1st – 8th
Starting from scratch, clearing virgin bush. Wynne wonders if she will be an old hag before it is looking like anything.
April 9th – 15th
Planting the first vegetables, and a visit to the other side of Kitale on the Suk Plains, treeless rolling savannah full of game and empty of people.
April 16th – 24th
Letters make Wynne homesick, but the work doesn’t give her time to think about it much.
April 25th – 28th
Furniture unpacked is discovered ruined by the rain, the car is broken and lots of visitors cause the food to run low.
