The Diary in November

Local entertainments and concern about the weather and the crops.  The first service is held in the new Elgon church.

November 1st – 9th

Gloomy news from home overtaken by an impromptu night off the farm taking pot luck on a friend’s farm.

November 10th – 18th

A dance on Armistice Day, and another during the following week. Welcome rain, but the wheat is poor and some of the coffee will have to be replanted.

November 19th – 30th

Much work to get Christmas mail off. The family attend the first service in the new Elgon Church.
