Weekend entertainments - and week day work: potato digging this time, struggling to feed the family.
October 1st – 9th
A strange entertainment in the Hotel hall crammed with people. Wynne feels like mutton surrounded by lambs, but enjoys the weekend house party.
October 10th – 23rd
Stores arrive from England, much welcomed, but Wynne does not approve of the new fashions.
October 25th – 31st
Potato lifting starts. Wynne worries about running out of vegetables. Much talk of revolution in the English mails.
